Breakfast @ Pasar Baru Bukit Bintang

Mentioning about Bukit Bintang, what first comes to our minds would be shopping centers and hotels. If you realise the boundary of coming Kuala Lumpur International Financial District (KLIFD) near Berjaya Times Square, the wet market is just somewhere around the corner there.
But do anyone of you still remember or even heard of the wet market in Bukit Bintang?

Besides wet market, Pasar Baru Bukit Bintang is one of the favourite breakfast spot for locals there!

Ah Weng Koh Hainan Tea is one of the most famous food stall there. Nearly all the tables there are served with their Hainan Tea and toast bread.

Thick Toast & Hainan Tea

le melted butter and kaya in the thick toast :D
surely taste awesome!

Regarding the Hainan Tea, its actually tea + coffee but the taste is kinda special.....some might like it, some might not.

If you dont like thick bread, the thin one also available here..just make sure you tell the uncle who serves there to make it thick or thin.

even if the bread is thin, the butter is still THICK :D

Hainan Tea - RM1.80
Toast - RM1.80
(if not mistaken)

well, the next famous stuff there i think would be this....
the original Sisters Crispy Popiah (RM2.00 each)

That's what we have inside the popiah.
Taste ok good, nothing much to comment about.

There are other stalls selling curry noodles, pork noodles, porridge, fish ball noodles, chee cheong fun and etc. The taste of those foods are consider normal for me.

Well, i think the reason behind for this place to be pack of people is not about how tasty the food is but is the special kind of feeling they have towards this place. Imagine for years they have been having breakfast here since...i also dont know when.

Some says this place might be close due to the road closure for the contruction of KLIFD, but there's also news saying that the wet market is not affected.

Just hope it can withstand the development of KL as long as it can.

Nak Won @ Ampang

I seldom have Korean food in my life, so i don't really have any benchmark for such cuisine.
However, this post is just merely to show what i've tried in Nak Won Korean BBQ Restaurant and how it looks like.

It's in the korean village of ampang or the area opposite Ampang Point.

Besides normal table seats, they have this special floor seating area.

I came here with my family. As my mum not really like BBQ stuff, so at last we just ordered some other dishes from the menu.

Mixed Rice with assorted vegetables served in Hot stone bowl (RM15)
-pour in that sauce and mix everything thing in the stone bowl-

This is a quite famous korean cuisine, but its the first time i tried it.
Taste OK.

Fried Rice Cake with chilli paste (RM 18)

Roasted Pork with Korean sauce (RM26/pax)
-picture shown is for a pax. taste ok also but the meat a bit tight. can be tiring if you are eating the whole plate alone..lol-

Not to forget those side dishes which is inclusive in the meal.
Quite like many of it actually, even though i dont know what's their name really is XD

When you are done with your meal, they will serve you fruits and barley water.

Nothing much i can say, as overall the food here taste OK for me, i think it just depends on whether you like the sauce they used in their food or not.

One day i'll be back to try out their BBQ meal. Maybe those BBQ dish would taste better since its a Korean BBQ restaurant overall ><

Satay Wawi@ Jalan Peel, KL

If you ask me which is my the best satay in KL, i would certainly say Satay Wawi in Peel Road!
For me, its even better than those in Kajang.

It is a stall inside Queen's Restaurant which only opens during late evening till night.

Queen's Restaurant which is just opposite the Shell petrol station or Queen's Park.

That's the stall. I'm not sure which one is Wawi already among the two with apron in this pic.

The satay they made is tender and juicy.
It taste good even without the satay sauce.

I was quite surprise on the flame they use to do the satay since normally with such big fire during BBQ will lead to burnt but this didn't.

Look at the those satays in the flame!

This is how their satay looks like.

Their satay ayam/daging(chicken/meat satay) and ketupat is priced at RM0.70 per stick
while satay kambing (lamb satay) is priced at RM1.00 per stick.

For early reservation, you may call 012-6089258.

My Restaurant @ Pandan Indah

Was searching for place for dinner that night with my family, until we pass by this random restaurant which seems to be full house. So we decided to give it a try.

My Restaurant, don't misunderstood, that's the name of the restaurant....not mine...LOL

Not knowing what is nice, so we just randomly ordered the dish.

....the tofu with vegetables is average.....
(RM18)

Simmered pork is nice!
(RM25)

...vege...nth much special.....taste ok....
(RM20)

this chicken is smooth and tender...taste good!
(RM35)

the fish is well done! steamed to the right time and no stinky fish smell at all!
(RM41.00)

Overall i can say the food here is delicious but i'll rate the cleanliness slightly below average as i can feel the plates that we were using are a bit oily >< maybe due to the high numbers of customers that they did the cleaning in a rush.

My Restaurant
17&19 Pandan Indah 1/23E
55100 Ampang, KL

Dragonfly Pastry Pasta Special @ Time Square, KL

That day was lepak-ing with my friends in Time Square, KL until lunch time, we were thinking hard what to EAT?

We walked round and round until a special deal attracts us in Dragonfly Pastry.
A pastry just opposites KFC at LG floor of Time Square.

So what's the deal?

Here it is! The pasta special deal by Dragonfly Pastry.

Mineral water + pasta + mini cake + ice cream...FOR RM9.90!
and you can mix and match the filling and sauce of the pasta based on your own favourite :D

I'll skip the mineral water part, since its just a normal bottle nimeral water.
So, this is how the pasta looks like....

Italian Tomato pasta with chicken ham

Aglio Olio pasta with spicy tuna

Carbonara sauce pasta with tuna and crab stick

Carbonara & italian tomato sauce pasta with chicken mince

Le pasta is simple but taste good. My friends and i were satisfied with our own choice.
Hope to taste all of the mix and match there but surely it'll takes time..LOL

for the dessert part, there's BOTH cake and ice cream!
(which is different from most of the sets out there where normally choose one among them)

The ice cream is good but for the cake of the day (as above) that i'm having that day is not really my type.
Just wondering what other types of cakes do they serve on other days? haha

Overall, for 10 bucks i think is more worth to have this than visiting other fast food :)
