The Front Door Cafe @ Grocer's Inn, Jalan Sultan

Here's another hidden cafe in KL.
I do not know it's existence until weeks ago my friend jio me here for brunch. XD

The Front Door Cafe is inside a backpacker inn called "Grocer's Inn". Try search for Grocer's Inn instead of the cafe name as you can see from the picture above, you wont realise there's a cafe inside.

Here's the interior of the cafe.
Most light source in the cafe is the natural light coming from the window panels.
So, if you plan to do some food porn in this cafe, try get a table near to the entrance.
Mine was quite inside as you can see from the picture above><.

So far there's only a 3 pages menu for the soft launch of this cafe. Full menu will be announce soon.

Prawn Aglio Oolio (RM17)

Signature Toast (RM18 for 3 slices)

and here's mine - The Front Door Platter (RM22)
- totally satisfied with the taste even though all the dish are just the simple one

Cappucino (RM9)
-coffee not bad too!

I realised that there's no lard in the menu and the waiters here are some malays.
So for my Islamic friends who wish to dropby, do wait for their grand launch. Hopefully there's a halal logo on their full menu where currently there's no where sighted.

There's a short path with nice graffiti on the way to the washroom. You may snap a few selfies or groupies here before leaving.

The old windows on the other side of the path.

A short message to you XD.

Ernest Zacharevic's Murals @ Ipoh Old Town

In end of June 2014, Ipoh Old Town White Coffee unveils murals of artist Ernest Zacharevic in Ipoh Old Town. "Art of Old Town", a special project by Old Town White Coffee for the people in Ipoh. These murals relates the culture and lifestyle of locals based on what he experienced in Ipoh.

All the 7 murals are surrounded in the old town within walking distance (might be a bit far if you are a lazy-walker...lol).

There's customised map available in Old Town White Coffee branch facing Padang Ipoh. And the above map is what i got from the tourist center opposite. I think shld be the same map.

So to ease up your life if you plan to hunt down the murals, park your car near Padang Ipoh, get a copy of map and starts hiking.
Parking in Ipoh is using coupon system. So do check the enforcement hours and get the coupons from nearby grocery stores or coffee shop. Some may sell you the whole book of coupon (RM6 if not mistaken) or some may also sell in pieces.

Absolute Thai @ Ikano Power Center

After a long walk in Ikea, my family and i walk to IPC for dinner since ikea's cafe was crazy crowded as usual and we were lazy to queue up and hunt for table.

With all the cafe and restaurant names listed on the directory list, only Absolute Thai that seems interesting to us. So here goes our dinner.

The simple menu in Absolute Thai.

If the names are alien to you, just flip over the menu for some visuals of the dishes.

On one side of the wall, there're plenty of coke design clocks hanging as deco...

...and on the other side...a line of small creatures (forgot da names) standing above...lol

Stir-fried baby kailan with salted fish (RM14.90)
-not bad

Stir-fried bean curd with hot basil leaves (RM12.90)
-quite spicy

Thai Fish Cakes (RM12.90)
-a good apetizer but quite spicy

Pandan Leaves Chicken (RM19.90)

Green curry chicken (RM16.90)
- the green curry aroma is kinda less

Overall, for me the food here is just average.
Not sure if other branch also doing the same.

Old Man Restaurant @ Bangi

One day, while driving around Bangi area with my family, the usual question popped up again: Any great stuff to feast here?

As my sis knows that there's a place nearby with good soup, so we just drop by for it

Old Man Restaurant

Soup Of the Day: Mushroom Soup (RM18 for small pot)

The soup is quite nice and special.

There'll be two types of soup daily.
To know which soup will be on menu of the day, you may call for enquiries.

As the time we drop by is near to 3pm (kitchen rest time), we only ordered some noodles.
House Speciality Noodle 烩生面 (RM10)

Noodle with minced meat (RM6)

Both noodle taste not bad
So far that's what I had, hopefully will be back again for other stuff.

Ben's @ Publika

I believe Ben's is already a famous dining spot nowdays and it has quite a few branch opened.

However this is only my first try in Ben's after so long they've been in the town.
And here i am in Ben's @ Publika

With the nice deco....

And they have their own magazine published...lol

As usual, western style menu....with only wordssssss D:
That's the main reason i'm still doing this post to share some of the pics, how the dish actually looks like.

There's dozens of recipe on the table and also table topics for you to chat on in case you are bored waiting for food to serve.

Tables are available at indoors and outdoors.
Indoors are usually fully seated but i bet with the hot weather in Malaysia, it's worth waiting to dine indoor.

Wild Mushroom Salad (RM24)
